21 NAMED NFCA ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLAR ATHLETES

The AMCC had 21 softball student-athletes recognized to the 2018-19 Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete Team for their academic performance.

Pitt-Bradford saw 11 named to the honor team, while Penn State Behrend had eight, and Franciscan University added two.

For the Panthers, seniors Grace Dazdaa, Liz Dzurisin, and Maddy Hillery picked up the All-American Scholar-Athelte honor. Joining them with the honor are juniors Betty Fratercangelo, Sophia Fratercangelo, Madison East, and Melissa Nye. Additionally, sophomores Kendra Colegrove, Kerrigan Hoffman, Jessica Milliron, and Jordan Uhing also earned a spot on the team.

Lion seniors Katie Gozzard and AJ Nichols were named to the NFCA All American Scholar-Athlete team for achieving a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher for 2018-19. Junior Alayna Derzak, sophomores Angela Dale  and Lauren Olevnik, and freshman Kylee Bundy, Amy Nolte, and Ashleigh Schmidt were also selected to the scholar-athlete team.

For the Barons, freshman Rachel Cooper and junior Kathleen Thompson were honored for their academic achievement.

As a team, Penn State Behrend was ranked tied for 34th place with a 3.50 overall GPA out of 117 teams nationwide, while Pitt-Bradford ranked 57th with a 3.413 GPA.
