D'YOUVILLE'S HALLADAY RECORDS 100TH CAREER WIN

D'YOUVILLE'S HALLADAY RECORDS 100TH CAREER WIN

D'Youville College softball head coach and Director of Athletics Ona Halladay made history on Saturday evening as she earned her 100th win with the program.

The Spartans defeated Mass.-Dartmouth 5-0 Saturday afternoon for career win 100 in the first game of the team's spring training trip in Florida. She then earned win 101 in a 3-2 victory over Geneva in their second game of the doubleheader.

Halladay began her career with D'Youville in 2013-14 and led the women to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) playoffs and a fifth-place finish in the regular season. The team would then take off in 2014-15 as the women went 25-9, winning the AMCC regular season title with five all-conference players, the pitcher of the year, and Halladay's first AMCC Coach of the Year crown.

A similar result would take place for Halladay and the Spartans in 2015-16 as the women repeated another AMCC regular season title, earning her second consecutive AMCC Coach of the Year title. Since then, Halladay and the women have reached the AMCC playoffs two of the last three years - including the last two seasons.

In total, Halladay has won two regular season AMCC titles, two AMCC Coach of the Year awards, coach a three-time AMCC Pitcher of the Year, and coach her players to a total of 19 AMCC all-conference players. In addition, four former players of Halladay's have gone on to have coaching careers with the Spartans in Shannon Evans, Sarah Marino, Kalie McHenry, and Darian Evans.

While she has boasted a talented team on the field, Halladay has also coached 41 AMCC Academic All-Conference players.
