KLEIN NAMED INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION AS BEHREND TAKES HOME MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TITLE

The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team collected 15 points and claimed their 15th conference championship Saturday morning at Delaware Park in Buffalo, NY, as the first six runners to cross the finish line were all from Behrend. 

The Lions picked up their fourth conference championship in a row, as Behrend junior Kody Klein was crowned the AMCC individual champion for the second year in a row. Klein crossed the finish line in 26:10.29, his fastest time of the season. Behrend freshman Lucas Boyd came in second place with a time of 26:13.84, while Bennett Kerr was third with 26:48.17. The next three finishes also belonged to the Lions, as Aidan Domencic (26:55.86), Chris Annear (27:08.16), and Peyton Brewer (27:12.50) all finished within 17 seconds of each other. Pitt-Greensburg sophomore Ethan Barrick was the first runner from another school to finish the course, coming in seventh place with a time of 27:13.6. Places eight and nine went back to Behrend again, as Aidan Reinsel and Nicolin Pierce finished in 27:13.83 and 27:30.08, respectively. Rounding out the top ten was Alfred State College freshman Andrew Zielinski, crossing the finish line in 27:44.69.

Alfred State finished in second place in the team scoring with 54, while Hilbert College took third with 76 points, and Pitt-Greensburg was fourth with 83. Mount Aloysius College finished in fifth place with 114 points, Carlow University was sixth (142) and La Roche University was seventh (146).
