HILBERT MEN, D'YOUVILLE WOMEN COME IN FIRST AT MEGHAN MEMORIAL

The Hilbert College cross country program hosted the 9th Annual Meghan Memorial race this morning, and just as Meghan would have wanted, the course was a little wet and slippery.

But the sun broke through the clouds and the dew disappeared from the grass by the end of the day.

Hilbert juniors Adam Droz and Megan Lee were the individual medalists, while the Hawks from Hilbert claimed the men's title and the women from D'Youville College earned the women's championship.

The Hilbert women, with 70 points, trailed D'Youville (29) and Medaille (39).

Lee posted a 20:41 establishing her fastest 5K time this fall and beating last year's pace in the same Meghan Memorial.  D'Youille freshman Rachel Luczak took second (21:29) and Medaille College freshman Sam Burlow came in third (21:49).

On the men's side, Hilbert earned just five points less than second-place D'Youville.  The Vikings from Villa Maria combined for 53 points while Medaille pushed a full team in action and collected 107 points.

Droz crossed the finish line in 18:12. He was chased by Zachary McPherson from Erie (18:48) and Zachary Voss from Villa Maria (18:59).

D'Youville freshman David Oswald led the Spartans with a fourth place overall finish (19:08), while Medaille sophomore Antonio Cisternino led the Mavs with a time of 20:58.
