GALLIGAN HEADLINES MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

Franciscan University freshman Liam Galligan has been tabbed as the AMCC men's cross country Runner of the Year. Galligan claimed the individual title at the 2017 AMCC Championship meet. He is the first individual champion for the Barons since 2012, as he won the race with a time of 26:23 and placed first out of 58 runners. Galligan recorded three of the top 15 finishes in the AMCC during the regular season, as he picked up his fastest time in the first meet of the season. He finished the Westminster College Fisher Invitational 25:46, which was the third-fastest time in the conference this fall. The rookie's 15th place finish at the National Catholic Invitational hosted by Notre Dame led the Barons to a fourth place finish, their highest team finish in program history.

Penn St. Behrend freshman Zachary Wortman is the men's cross country Newcomer of the Year. With a time of 26:52, Wortman finished third at the AMCC Championship meet and was the fastest freshman after Galligan. Wortman claimed four of the top 15 finishes this season, including his season-best of 26:04 at the Highlander Invitational on October 7.

Franciscan head coach Dan Kuebler and Behrend's Greg Cooper have been named the men's cross country Co-Coaches of the Year. Kuebler coached the Barons to a second place finish at the AMCC Championship, trailing Behrend by only three points and a difference of just eight seconds in combined team times. Cooper guided the Lions to their seventh straight, and 11th overall, conference title.
