MEN'S TRACK & FIELD TEAMS COMPETE AT AARTFC CHAMPIONSHIPS

Penn State Behrend senior Samuel Hetrick finished as the runner-up in the high jump on the final day of the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Indoor Championships hosted by Nazareth. Hetrick jumped 6-7 1/2, placing behind Jamile Gantt of Rowan for All-AARTFC honors. Freshman Jake Egizio ran a time of 22.70 for 18th place in the 200m dash. The 4x2 relay team of Marshall NockJake WaldenBrandon Konieczki, and Egizio crossed the finish the line with a time of 1:34.42 for 23rd place. As a team, Behrend finished tied for 27th out of 39 teams in the team standings with eight points. The distance medley relay team of Aidan DomencicJake WaldenAidan Reinsel, and Kody Klein finished 12th with a time of 10:39.76. In the long jump, freshman Konieczki registered a score of 20-5 1/4 for 16th place.

The Alfred State men's track and field team also put in a good showing at the AARTFC regional championship meet. On Friday, Aden Alexander tallied a 22nd place finish in the long jump after jumping 6.06 meters in his third attempt. Then this Alexander came in 22nd place in the triple jump. His best jump was 12.51 meters. Greg Raymond notched an 18th place finish in the weight throw. His best throw was 14.96 meters. Then to finish the weekend, the team of Pat PufferNicholas FlorczakChimaij Okafor, and Derek Walter finished the 4x200 in 1:36.25.
