PENN ST. BEHREND, ALTOONA TO CLASH IN MEN'S TENNIS FINAL

It will be Penn State Behrend and Penn State Altoona facing off in the final of the men's tennis championship on Sunday at 1:30pm at Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, PA.

Behrend, the two time defending champion and top seed in the tournament, easily handled #4 seed Mount Aloysius College, 5-0.  The Lions swept all three doubles matches and clinched with wins by Akash Sangha at #2 singles and William Thomas at $5 singles.

Meanwhile, #2 seed Penn State Altoona blanked #3 Pitt-Greensburg, also by a 5-0 score.  Three doubles wins were then fortified with victories at #2 singles by Andrew Chronister (6-0, 6-0) and Jackson Newell at #5 singles (6-1, 6-0).

Sunday's final will break a tie between the two teams from the regular season, with Behrend taking the first match, 6-3, and Altoona responding with a 5-4 decision.

In addition to claiming the AMCC title, the winner will travel to Hershey on Sunday, May 5 to take on the winner of the Atlantic East Conferenec in a newly established partnership.  The collaboration will result in an opportunity to vis for access to the NCAA Division III championship tournament in Spring 2026.
