FIELD SET FOR AMCC MEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

The AMCC men's tennis championship will take place this weekend, April 17 & 18, at Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, PA. With a perfect 4-0 record in conference play, Mount Aloysius College earned the No. 1 seed and will face No. 4 Penn State Altoona in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon. No. 2 Pitt-Greensburg will face No. 3 Penn State Behrend in the second semifinal game of the day. Please note that spectators are not permitted at the championship tournament.

Mount Aloysius compiled an unblemished 4-0 record in league play to earn the top seed in the conference tournament. Sophomore Cole Kazmierczyk went 4-0 in singles play (1-0 at #1 singles and 3-0 at #2 singles), while freshman Bruce Perow went 4-0 at #3 singles. Sophomore Adam Tussey picked up the 4-0 record at #3 doubles -- earning two of those wins with partner Blake Fillinger and two with Tanner Beck

With a 2-2 conference mark, Pitt-Greensburg will be the No. 2 seed. Junior Turner Price leads the Bobcats with a 4-0 record at the top singles spot, while senior Vaughn Hunkele (#2 singles) and junior Francisco Garcia (#5 singles) went 3-1 in singles play. The duo of Price and Hunkele picked up the perfect 4-0 record at #1 doubles.

Penn State Behrend enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed. For the Lions, senior Belden Tuttle went 4-0 in singles play, going 3-0 at #5 singles and 1-0 at #4. Sophomore Matthew Brown earned the 3-0 record at #4 singles. In doubles play, Tuttle and doubles partner junior Michael Brudy went 4-0 in the #2 slot.

Rounding out the championship field is #4 Penn State Altoona. Junior Kirk Eichenlaub led the way for the Lions in the #6 singles spot, picking up the 4-0 record in conference play.

The winners of Saturday's semifinal matches will square off on Sunday at 1:30pm for the AMCC Championship.
