Penn State Altoona men's tennis freshman Geoff Zlobinsky was selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference's Division III South Region Rookie of the Week.

Zlobinsky posted dominant performances for the Lions last week, helping his team go undefeated while extending the squad's winning streak to eight consecutive matches. Playing in the No. 1 slots for both singles and doubles, he went 3-0 in each flight against AMCC opponents and 4-0 overall.

Zlobinsky opened his week of singles play on Tuesday, when he blanked his opponent from Mount Aloysius College 6-0, 6-0. On Friday and Saturday, he earned 6-1, 6-1 wins against D'Youville College and Pitt-Greensburg. On Sunday, he recorded a 6-0, 6-1 against non-conference foe Bethany College.

In doubles play, Zlobinsky partnered with Adam Hack to post a perfect record. The duo had 8-2 wins against Mount Aloysius and D'Youville before picking up 8-5 victories over Pitt-Greensburg and Bethany.
