SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Pitt-Bradford SO Sam Wright picked up maximum points in the Panthers' season-opening win over Fredonia. He was a part of two winning relay teams and easily won his only individual event. He opened the 200-yard Medley relay with a 28.25 second backstroke leg, and then posted a 24.43 second split in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Individually, he won the 100-yard backstroke by 9.09 seconds, finishing with a time of 1:01.10.
BEST OF THE REST: PS-Altoona SO Adam Marawan had one individual first place and one relay first place during Friday night's season-opening win over W&J at home. He finished atop the standings in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 21.87, and he also combined with his teammates to win the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a total time of 1:40.69...PS-Behrend JR Tim Compton won the 500 free (5:04.68) and placed second in four events to lead the Lions at the Grove City First Splash Meet. Compton was second in the 200 free (1:49.91), the 100 fly (54.55) and the 100 breaststroke (1:03.29), while swimming on the second-place 200 medley relay.
