ALFRED STATE MEN, BEHREND WOMEN LEAD AFTER DAY 3 OF SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

After day three of the Allegheny Empire Swimming and Diving Championship, the Alfred State College men remain in first place, while the Penn State Behrend women have climbed in front of the Pioneer women for the top spot in the AMCC.

The Pioneer men picked up wins in the 100 fly, as Kellen Fletcher led the pack with a time of 50.44, and the 100 breast, with Stuart Yates touching the wall in 58.35. Westin Perry also earned a first place finish for Alfred State, with a 50.88 finish in the 100 back, while Austin Miller claimed the AMCC men's 1m diving competition with a finals score of 378.65. The Alfred State 400 medley relay of Perry, Yates, Fletcher, and Jazz Widney earned the Pioneers another first place finish on the night, finishing in 3:26.56. 

The Behrend men also picked up two wins on the night, as Tim Compton was triumphant in the 400 IM (4:07.30) and Jake Schmidt took home the title in the 200 free (1:43.03).

On the women's side, Penn State Behrend's Marcella Puglia was tops in the AMCC in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.41. The Behrend 400 medley relay team of Emma Webster, Barbie Cessar, Valerie Grimes, and Puglia was the top finisher in the AMCC with a final time of 4:10.61.

The Alfred State women got Friday night wins from Mikaela Snayczuk in the 100 breast (1:09.11) and Alyssa James in the 100 back (1:01.65), as both women finished first amongst AMCC teams. Penn State Altoona also claimed two victories, as Grace Dangelo finished first in the AMCC in the 400 IM (4:50.67), and Avery Heisey was first in the 100 fly (1:03.81).
