AMCC MEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS KICK OFF ON WEDNESDAY

The AMCC men's and women's swimming and diving championships will kick off on Wednesday, February 11 with the diving competition at Grove City College. Penn St. Behrend will look to capture their ninth consecutive conference title.

Paving the way for the Lions all season has been senior Dan Simon who ranks at the top of the AMCC in the 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, and 200 individual medley. Simon is a four-time AMCC Swimmer of the Week and competed at the 2014 AT&T Winter Nationals in Greensboro, NC.

Other performers to watch on the men's side include:

Pitt-Bradford sophomore Felipe Suntaxi, who ranks first in the 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly and second in the 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle.

Cabrini sophomore Todd Walker ranks second in the 1650 freestyle and 100 butterfly and third in the 200 freestyle.

PS-Altoona senior Jay Wareham is fourth in the 50 freestyle and ninth in the 100 freestyle.

The swimming events will begin Thursday and conclude Saturday.  Preliminaries will begin daily at 10am and the finals will run nightly starting at 6pm.  The AMCC championship is held in conjunction with the Grove City Invitational and the Presidents Athletic Conference Championship.
