DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Behrend GK Chris Ralph recorded three saves in the battle for first-place, including a one-handed save coming from a breakaway opportunity. His defense efforts helped him tally his eighth shut-out of the year, helping the Lions remain undefeated in conference play.

 

BEST OF THE REST: Medaille D Sam Beesley had a big game against D'Youville on Saturday evening, helping the Mavericks keep a clean sheet and advance to the AMCC semifinals, and then had the task of marking D'Youville's top scorer, while keeping him from getting a shot on goal while Mavericks survived to play another day...Franciscan M Dominic Vander Woude commanded a Baron defense that effectively shut down one of the most potent offenses in the league in a 2-1 win over La Roche in the quarterfinal match up, as the Barons held the Redhawks to 13 shots, just four on goal and was influential in moving the ball up field after disrupting any type of offensive threat from the Redhawks...Mount Aloysius D Pete Smerecky helped lead the Mountie backline in a 2-0 shutout victory over La Roche on Tuesday, which was the sixth straight conference shutout for the Mounties with Smerecky as a starting defender...D'Youville GK Kyle Dick had an outstanding week for the Spartans, allowing just one goal and making three saves in a 1-1 2OT tie to Pitt-Bradford that clinched a playoff berth for the men, and followed that up on Saturday by holding the AMCC's highest scoring team to no goals through 90 minutes, making an incredible 13 saves...La Roche GK Abdullah Aljundi made seven saves in La Roche's AMCC Quarterfinal game at Franciscan.
