AMCC COACHES EXPECT MOUNT ALOYSIUS TO FINISH FIRST IN LEAGUE STANDINGS

The Mount Aloysius College men’s soccer team has been selected by league coaches to defend their regular season title from a season ago. The Mounties earned back-to-back titles in 2021 & 2022 before falling in the AMCC championship game in 2023. Penn State Behrend is expected to finish in second place, with defending AMCC champion Alfred State College rounding out the top three.

Mount Aloysius senior F Juan Camacho has been named the AMCC Pre-season Offensive Player of the Year. Camacho is coming off a season where he was the 2023 AMCC Offensive Player of the Year. He was also named to the USC All-Region VII team and was a USC Scholar All-Region East honoree in 2023. Camacho was a two-time USC National Player of the Week last season. He ranked nationally in assists (#2) and points per game (#13) in 2023. He was an AMCC first team all-conference selection in 2023 after leading the Mounties in goals (13), assists (14), and points (40).

Alfred State senior D Jack Leahy has been tabbed the AMCC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Leahy was the 2023 AMCC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, while also picking up first team all-conference and all-region honors a season ago.

The AMCC Championship will be held November 9 at the site of the highest remaining seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
