#1 MT. ALYOSIUS, #3 ALFRED STATE TO CLASH IN AMCC MEN'S SOCCER TITLE GAME

Top-seeded Mount Aloysius College and #3 Alfred State College each earned victories Wednesday night in the AMCC Men's Soccer Semifinals to advance to the Championship Game on Saturday afternoon. The Mounties secured the 2-0 win over #4 Pitt-Greesburg, while #3 Alfred State earned the 2-1 upset victory over #2 Penn State Behrend. 

Mount Aloysius 2, Pitt-Greensburg 0
Mount Aloysius picked up a win the AMCC semifinals to advance to the championship game for the third season in a row. The Mounties outshot the Bobcats 18-2 with ten of their shots reaching goal. Mount Aloysius first got on the scoreboard at the 20:18 mark when Juan Camacho scored an unassisted goal to put his team up 1-0. The score remained the same throughout the remainder of the half, as Mount Aloysius held the narrow 1-0 lead at halftime. Mountie freshman D Martin Donner added the second goal of the game for Mount Aloysius with six seconds to play on the clock to set the final at 2-0. 

Alfred State 2, Penn State Behrend 1
The Alfred State victory puts the Pioneers in the AMCC men's soccer championship game for the first time in program history. Jack Leahy scored both goals for the Pioneers, while Ali Mata-Ruiz and Jackson Powers earned assists on the goals. The Pioneers scored the game's first goal late in the first half. Mata-Ruiz was able to find J. Leahy open for a goal in the 34th minute. After halftime, a red card forced the Pioneers to play a man down and the Lions took advantage by tying the game at 1-1 with a goal in the 66th minute. A little over 10 minutes later, J. Leahy scored his second goal of the game to give the Pioneers a 2-1 advantage, as Powers got credit for the. ASC would hold the Lions at bay to secure the 2-1 victory.

#1 Mount Aloysius and #3 Alfred State will meet on Saturday, November 4 at 2:00pm on the campus of Mount Aloysius for the AMCC Men's Soccer Championship Game. The winner will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
