LANGE'S LATE GOAL PROPELS BEHREND TO MEN'S SOCCER SWEET SIXTEEN

Penn State Behrend battled past Lycoming College in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, defeating the Warriors 1-0 on Saturday night at John Carroll University in suburban Cleveland, Ohio. They then followed that up with a dramatic 1-0 win in 2OT over John Carroll on Sunday night to advance to the Sweet Sixteen.

On Saturday, PSB started fast and never looked back against LC, earning the program's third-ever win in the NCAA Tournament.  Behrend advanced to the second round for the first time since 2011.  The Behrend Lions took on host John Carroll Sunday evening at 7 p.m.  John Carroll topped Penn State Abington 4-0 in first round action.

Behrend freshman Logan Brinsky scored his ninth goal of the seaosn just four minutes into the contest, giving PSB an early 1-0 lead. Sophomore Richard Blanchard was credited with an assist on Brinsky's goal. The Behrend Lions controlled much of the pace in the first half, outshooting Lycoming 10-2. Penn State Behrend's defense held up in the second half, preventing the Warriors from equalizing. AMCC Defensive Player of the Year Chris Ralph made three saves in goal.

The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team went toe-to-toe with host John Carroll University on Sunday night.  Senior Dakota Lange scored perhaps one of the best goals of the collegiate soccer season in the second minute of the second overtime to lift Penn State Behrend to a dramatic 1-0 victory.  With the win, Penn State Behrend will advance to the Sweet Sixteen for a showdown with Calvin College. The Lions will making its first-ever Sweet Sixteen appearance in program history.
