AMCC MEN'S SOCCER GAME OF THE WEEK: BEHREND AT MEDAILLE

AMCC Men's Soccer Game of the Week:
Penn State Behrend @ Medaille College
Tuesday, October 24 at 11:30 a.m.

The final AMCC men's soccer of the week for the 2017 season features two of the top teams in the league, Penn State Behrend and Medaille College. In a rematch of last year’s championship game, both teams can potentially clinch the #1 seed for the playoffs with a win dependent on the outcome of the Mount Aloysius game. The Mavericks will earn the top seed if they win by three-goals and Behrend can clinch with a win or a draw.  Medaille can also clinch with a win as long as Mount Aloysius does not pass them in the “four-goal per game capped goal differential” (in which Mount Aloysius currently trail Medaille by two-goals).  If Medaille wins and Mount both win, Behrend would then drop to the #3 seed and if Medaille and Mount end up tied in “four-goal per game capped goal differential,” it would then come down to goals against in conference contests in which Mount currently owns a one-goal advantage.

Penn State Behrend has remained undefeated throughout conference play, allowing only three goals in eight AMCC contests. Senior forward Matt Dziadosz leads the Lions in assists (10), points (24), and is tied for first in goals with seven. Behrend is second in the AMCC in allowing the fewest amount of goals scored (15) and goal-against average (.76). In addition, sophomore goalkeeper Chris Ralph leads the conference in both goals against (9) and goals-against average (.72) while also notching seven shutouts. The Lions have defeated the Mavericks in the past six meetings, outscoring Medialle 12-1.

Medaille sophomore midfielder Mitchel Ali leads the Mavs, and is tied for fourth in the conferene with 10 goals, while sophomore forward Lachlan Wilkinson is tied for third in the AMCC with eight assists. Wilkinson, sophomore defender Anthony Marafioti, and freshman forward Given Holy Gdobe each pace the Mavs with eight goals a piece. Defensively, Junior goalkeeper Matthew Gabalski ranks second in the conference with 11 goals against and is third with a 1.33 goals against average.
