MOUNTIES FALL TO CALVIN IN NCAA TOURNAMENT; BEHREND ADVANCES TO ECAC FINALS

Calvin College 1, Mt. Aloysius College 0
Mt. Aloysius fell to Calvin 1-0 in the first round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament. The Knights were ranked No. 1 in the nation in the latest NSCAA Division III poll and entered the matchup 20-0-1 on the season. In its win over Mount Aloysius, Calvin scored the only goal of the game just 1:58 into the match as junior D Jay Noyola headed in a corner kick taken by sophomore MF Mitch Stark that was sent over to the far post by senior forward Taylor Pruis. Noyola was able to dart in on the double-pass to cram home his first goal of the season. Calvin continued to pressure the Mount Aloysius goal, outshooting the Mounties 32-4 but could not score again. Mount Aloysius junior GK Justin Hann came up with 15 saves including several of the acrobatic variety. Mount Aloysius had one strong chance in the dying seconds of the match but a shot in the box by the Mounties was deflected wide of the Calvin goal. Calvin senior GK Niko Giantsopoulos posted his 17th shutout of the season.

Penn St. Behrend 2, Grove City College 1
The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team weathered the storm on evening to take down Grove City in the semifinal round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament 2-1.
Junior forward Anthony Crivelli added to his team-leading point total scoring both Lion goals, giving him 30 points so far this season. Crivelli's first goal came just seven and half minutes into the game. He took a pass from sophomore forward Matt Dziadosz and buried the shot to give Behrend a 1-0 lead. Battling the cold and rain, both teams fought for the rest of the half. Despite 11 total shots, and five saves between both goalies, neither team was able to find the back of the net. Grove City quickly put themselves on the scoreboard in the second half however. Seth Loew tallied his team-leading 18th goal of the season just five minutes into the half to tie the score at one. The Lions would bounce back to take the lead once again 15 minutes later. At the 66:48 mark, Crivelli roped a shot from 20 yards out that beat Wolverine keeper Ben Weaver to give Behrend a lead they would not relinquish. Dziadosz and senior midfielder Nick Stewartpicked up the assists on the game-winner.

Behrend will take on the winner of No. 3 Geneva and No. 7 Alvernia tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. for a chance to crown themselves ECAC South champions.
