FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team fell short in their spring-break opener in Florida. The Lions dropped a 3-2 decision to Monmouth (Ill.) on Sunday afternoon.

* The Fighting Scots scored all three unanswered runs in the fifth inning
* Monmouth used three hits, including a double by Justin Bost to knock in the first two runs
* Bost then scored the game-winning run on a single by Trevor Davis
* Josh Wagner (South Park, PA/South Park) went 4-for-5 with an RBI in the clean-up spot
* The Lions tallied a run in the first and third innings
