PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The La Roche women's soccer team was defeated by Westminster College, 5-1 Friday evening in a non-conference match at the Baierl Athletic Complex. The Redhawks now hold a 1-3 overall record this season. Westminster remains undefeated and improved  to 4-0-1.

The visitors scored two goals in the first five minutes and never looked back. Westminster scored a total of five goals in the first half. The Redhawks did however hold the Titans scoreless in the second.

Senior forward and captain Alondra Gonzalez (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) nixed the shutout by scoring her first goal of the season early in the second half. Gonzalez crossed over a defender from about 22 yards out and then ripped a shot over the goalkeepers head.

Sophomore GK Casey Semenko (Munhall, PA / Ironmen) had 7 saves in the second half.

The Redhawks were out-shot 27-8 (17-4 in shots on goal).
