HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The #12 Juniata men's volleyball team managed a pair of victories over visiting Hiram, 3-0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-20) and 3-0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-13), Saturday afternoon inside Memorial Gymnasium as the snow piled up outside.
Tyler Goldsborough (Reading, Pa. / Exeter Township HS) led the offense as he accumulated 24 kills while hitting .487, four aces, 13 digs, a solo block, and a block assist across both matches. Kevin Duffy III (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle HS) was his usual productive self as he totaled 19 kills while hitting .400, two digs, and five block assists across the two matches. Will Phelan (Saegertown, Pa. / Saegertown HS) amassed 14 kills while hitting .565 with 11 digs, a solo block, and two block assists, while Luke Hoffman (Reading, Pa. / Exeter Township HS) managed 12 kills while hitting .526 to go with a solo block and four block assists.
Drew Hunker (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny HS) tallied five kills, five aces, and ten digs, while Joseph Chambers (West Hempstead, N.Y. / West Hempstead HS) added five kills, two aces, three digs, a solo block, and five block assists on the day. Peter Carioto (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny HS) chipped in with ten digs while Reese Ganter (Reading, Pa. / Exeter Township HS) had the offense humming all afternoon as the team hit .433 combined in the two matches while he tallied 66 assists, three kills, seven digs, and a block assist.
Juniata will host Lancaster Bible for senior night, March 25th at 7:00.
