Redhawks Fall by One in Erie

Erie, PA - In tonight's matchup, La Roche took a trip to see if they could give 5-0 (in conference), Penn State Behrend their first loss of the season. 

The Redhawks went to halftime up by seven points. It was in the second half where things started to take a turn for La Roche. Behrend picked up their intensity and the next thing they knew both teams were tied. 

In the second half LRU scored 34 points, while the Lions put up 42. This meant that at the end of the game, the Redhawks had fallen by one; the final score 75-74, and the Lions got to continue their perfect conferenced record now 6-0 in the Allegheny Mountain Conference. 

Kadyn Hannah for the Redhawks shined again tonight. Last week he had 30 points in one game, and tonight he netted 21, also leading the rebounding game with eight total rebounds. 

La Roche was the winner tonight in the three point court, shooting 40% from the three point line. The Redhawks also shot 47.5% from field goal range; both higher than the Lions' shooting percentages.  

The downfall for LRU was free throws. The team shot 57.1% from the free throw line, whereas Penn State Behrend shot 100% from the free throw line. 

Joe Pipilo went 4-6 (67%) in three point shots ending with a total of 16 points. He and two others also joined Hannah in the double digits club in tonight's contest. Devon Darrell coneccted for 12 points, while Isaiah Thomas completed 11. 

The Redhawks will try to get back on track this Saturday, January 15th in Buffalo, NY against the Medaille Mavericks. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 PM tipoff.
