PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Saturday afternoon, LRU women's soccer tied their AMCC opener at home against Hilbert College in double overtime, 1-1. With less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds to go, one of Hilbert's defenders was called for a handball while in the goalie box. Therefore, sophomore forward Alexis Nudds was afforded a penalty kick. With the Redhawks down 1-0, Nudds capitalized on the opportunity to tie the contest and send the game to extra time. Neither team was able to score in the overtime periods. La Roche is now 2-5-1 on the season and Hilbert is 0-2-1.

• Hilbert's Amber Stuck struck first in the first period with a corner kick goal along with help from Grace Zabawa to make the score 1-0.

• La Roche outshot Hilbert in both periods with a total of 19-9 on goal.

• Hilbert's goalie Tahlia Kosek had a total of 7 saves while La Roche's Bella Constanzo and Casey Semenko combined for a total of 4.

NEXT UP: La Roche hosts Muskingum University Tuesday, September 28th at 4:00 p.m. in their final non-conference game of the season.
