AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR JANUARY 6-12, 2025

The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's basketball and wrestling for the period running from January 6-12, 2025.

Women's Basketball: PS-Behrend G Rachel Majewski averaged 25.5 points and 5.5 rebounds, while shooting 59.5 percent from the floor in a pair of AMCC wins for the Lions. She tied a career high with 33 points and 14 field-goals made against Altoona in the AMCC Game of the Week. She then led the team in scoring with 18 points vs. Pitt-Bradford to go along with six rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. Majewski is now 60 points away from becoming the program's all-time leading scorer.

Men's Basketball: Mount Aloysius G Will Hagwood averaged 23 points and 11.5 rebounds a game across two AMCC victories for the Mounties this week. Hagwood's three point shooting provided a boost for his team, hitting 50% of his shots from outside the arc this week. Hagwood's output puts him in second place in the conference for both points and rebounds this season, while his three steal per game average this week moved him to the sixth-highest average in the stat for the AMCC.

Women's Wrestling: Hiram SR Kylee Bentley (110/117) went a perfect 5-0 this past week in a pair of events held at Price Gymnasium on the campus of Hiram College. Three of those wins were all by fall within one minute of each bout starting.

Men's Wrestling: Penn SO Nicholai Brotzman (285) was one of three Wildcats to post a 3-0 record to help lead his team to an undefeated AMCC dual record. The sophomore heavyweight pinned all three opponents in the first period, accumulating just 7:02 minutes of mat time. Brotzman started his day with a 1:10 pin of Alfred State's Keaton Renfrow to close out a 30-17 dual meet victory. He added a 2:55 pin against Penn State Behrend's Matthew Caldwell and a 2:57 fall against Pitt-Bradford's Cameron Carter-Green.
