AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR JANUARY 2-8, 2024

The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's basketball for the period running from January 2-7, 2024.

Men's Basketball: Alfred State G Paris Jamison averaged 31.5 points per game and shot 79.4 percent from the field. He started the week with a 25 point game against Penn St Altoona where he went 10-for-15 from the field. He also added four assists and three steals. Jamison followed that with a 38 point game against Mt. Aloysius, going 17-for-19 from the field, shooting 89.5%, while adding six rebounds and a block. With his 38 point game, Jamison hit his 1,000th career point to becoming Alfred State's first 1,000 point scorer in their NCAA era.

Women's Basketball: Carlow G Sydney Carr scored a career- and season-high 34 points with 11 rebounds against Pitt Bradford Saturday. She also tallied five assists, five blocks, and four steals. In the two-point win over Mount Aloysius, Carr had 14 points and three assists and tied her season-high with seven steals. For the week, Carr averaged 24.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 5.5 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game.

Men's Wrestling: Alfred State JR Sean Malenfant went 3-0 against some of the best wrestlers in the nation. He opened the weekend with the 15-4 major decision win over Loras' Kam Royster. The notched two first round falls, the first came against Angel Jaimes of Aurora in 1:55. Then the final one came against Elon Martin of RIT in 2:33. The Pioneers finished 18th at the NWCA National Duals.
