LA ROCHE NAMES ETHAN THOMSON AS MEN'S LACROSSE HEAD COACH

La Roche University is excited to announce that Ethan Thomson will be joining the LRU Athletic Department as the Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach.

Thomson comes to us from Brevard College where he served as the assistant men’s lacrosse coach and recruiting coordinator. Thomson was with Brevard from 2019 until 2021.

Previously, Thomson was the Head Lacrosse Coach as well as Adjunct Professor and Assistant Operations Manager at Mohawk Valley Community College (2016-2018) based in Utica, New York. After leaving Mohawk Valley, Thomson spent a year coaching lacrosse at Walter M. Williams High School in Burlington, North Carolina. While he was coaching he was a fitness trainer and manager at local gym.

Thomson began his collegiate playing career as a two-sport student-athlete at Mohawk Valley Community College competing in lacrosse and soccer. In 2012 as a member of the Hawks, he earned a spot at the Region III Lacrosse All-Star game. He concluded his collegiate career at Lees-McRae as a defenseman, playing in 28 games on the NCAA Division II level. While at Lees-McRae, Thomson also gained valuable experience in athletic administration by serving as Compliance and Sports Information Assistant in the Department of Athletics.

Thomson is originally from Clinton, New York. Coach Thomson earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Administration form Lees-McRae College, and obtained his Master’s in Sport Management from Southern New Hampshire University.
