AMCC 25TH ANNIVERSARY DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI SERIES: ADAM WEAVER, HILBERT COLLEGE

Adam Weaver left a major mark on the men's volleyball program by the time he earned his degree from Hilbert College. The Stow, Ohio (Archbishop Hoban) native is the most decorated Hawk to have worn the royal and white uniform having collected national and conference honors, based on his athletic performance on the hardwood and work in the classroom.

Weaver attended Hilbert from 2010 –2014 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, with a minor in psychology. He currently works as a Risk Reduction Probation Officer for the Franklin County Common Pleas Court – Adult Probation Services, in Columbus, Ohio. He supervises approximately 50 moderate-to-high risk offenders who are placed on community control by the Court, upon being sentenced for a felony offense.

“Volleyball helped shape my character and work ethic in several different ways,” said Weaver.  “College athletics is a year-round job, so that helped develop a work ethic that has transferred to my position with the court. Being an elected captain taught me how to be a leader; being a teammate taught me to communicate in a professional demeanor; and competition drove me to strive for greatness. Overall, Hilbert taught me their core values and to live life with integrity.”

Weaver, a four-time all-conference selection, is the only athlete, in any program, to have earned the title of NCAA Division III Statistical Leader in two consecutive years.  The Outside Hitter led in Kills Per Set in both 2013 and 2014, scoring 4.32 and 5.03 points respectively.  He also led Division III in Points Per Set averaging 5.68 points in each set played in 2014.

At the conclusion of his 2014 senior campaign, he was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-American team, was selected the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Men's Volleyball Player of the Year and once again was recognized by the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) as a Second Team All-Conference player.

Weaver was a three-time UVC All-Conference player but was only a three-time AMCC first team all-conference selection since men's volleyball wasn't recognized at the league-level until 2012. He helped his 2013 and 2014 men's volleyball teams earn the AMCC Team Peak Performer Award while notching three AMCC Academic All-Conference honors himself.

Weaver is still the All-Time Leader in Kills, Kills Per Set, Attack Attempts, Points, and Points Per Set in the Hawks volleyball program.

The Distinguished Alumni Series is part of the AMCC's 25th anniversary where the conference will be recognizing former AMCC student-athletes who have excelled in their area of study. The Distinguished Alumni Series will run every Thursday throughout the academic year.
