AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR MARCH 22-28, 2021

The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of baseball, softball, men's volleyball, men's & women's cross country, and men's & women's tennis for the period running from March 22-28, 2021.

Women's Cross Country: PS-Behrend SR Savanna Carr won the AMCC Championship with a time of 24:18.88 in the 5K race. This marks Carr's third AMCC individual championship, also winning in 2017 and 2019 (she did not compete in 2018).

Men's Cross Country: Alfred State SO Gavin Bathgate was the men's indivdual champion at the AMCC championship race after finishing in 10th place in 2019. Bathgate finished the 5K in 18:29.06.

Women's Tennis: La Roche SR Jazmyn Davis was the only Redhawk to go 2-0 in doubles and singles in Sunday's conference match vs. Penn St. Altoona. She also owns a 2-0 record in singles matches this season.

Men's Tennis: PS-Behrend SR Noah Colvin went undefeated in AMCC action last week, claiming No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles wins.

Softball (Player): Pitt-Bradford 3B Hannah Lathrop hit .500 in a 4-0 week for the Panthers in conference play. She hit a home run, drove in five runs and scored two while adding in a stolen base. She was an offensive force in the AMCC Game of the Week match-up with Mount Aloysius. She went 4-for-6 in the doubleheader, driving in four of the Panthers' seven runs over the weekend. In game one, she went 3-for-3 with her first career home run and added three RBIs.

Softball (Pitcher): Pitt-Bradford SR Jordan Uhing was dominant for the Panthers in their opening week of play, picking up two conference wins in the circle. She won both games she pitched, throwing complete games and allowing one run in each contest.  In the AMCC Game of the Week at Mount Aloysius, Uhing threw a complete game three-hitter, striking out 11 Mounties in the game. For the week, she allowed eight hits in 14 innings of work and struck out 19 batters, on her way to recording a 1.00 ERA.

Baseball (Player): PS-Behrend OF Anthony Slate led the Lions to a 2-0 start in conference play, while going 2-2 overall on the week. Slate hit .467 in four games, knocking in seven hits and scoring five runs. He also posted a .600 slugging percentage and ripped a pair of doubles while picking up an RBI. Defensively, Slate had 10 putouts and one assist with no errors.

Baseball (Pitcher): Penn State Behrend JR Thomas Zbezinski threw a six-hit complete game shutout in a 5-0 win over Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday. He struck out eight batters in the seven innings of work. Zbezinski improves to 2-0 on the mound and keeps an unblemished ERA.

Men's Volleyball: Medaille OH Chris Pauline had a huge week for the Mavericks leading them to a 2-0 record in AMCC action. Pauline started out his week with a match-high 16 kills in a straight sets 3-0 win over Penn St.-Behrend. He also had a match-high 14 kills in a 3-0 victory over Penn St.-Altoona. On the week, Pauline averaged 5.00 kills per set, along with a .356 hitting percentage, six blocks, 13 digs and 30 kills for 6.3 points per set.
