In light of the ongoing COVID-19 virus outbreak, and with the health and safety of our student-athletes and campus communities in mind, the Presidents Council of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference has voted unanimously to cancel all remaining regular season conference games and conference championships, effective immediately.
This decision applies to the following sports currently in season: women's bowling, men's volleyball, men's tennis, softball and baseball. Going forward, any contests between AMCC member institutions, if they choose to play them, shall be considered non-conference competitions, and shall not count toward any AMCC standings, statistics or awards for the Spring 2020 season.
The decision comes following the NCAA Board of Governors’ decision to cancel the remaining winter and spring NCAA Championships, encouraging conferences and institutions to make decisions and take action in the best interest of their student-athletes and communities.
AMCC commissioner Donna Ledwin will work with the Division III Commissioners Association and the NCAA to secure appropriate participation waivers for spring sport student-athletes as well as sport sponsorship and minimum contest waivers for member institutions.
