The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team raised awareness for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) through their annual “Maggie Day,” which was held Saturday, April 17 during the Panthers' doubleheader with Pitt-Greensburg.
The team raised more than $300 for EDS awareness. The event is held each year in honor of Maggie O’Connell, a 13-year-old girl currently living with EDS.
As part of the day’s festivities, the Panthers wore purple shirts, with one of Maggie’s favorite sayings on the back, “When life throws you a curve ball, hit it out of the park.”
