    Hryschuk was huge for the Mavs in their first ever AMCC postseason win over D'Youville College on Sunday. She went 2-0 against the Spartans, including a match clinching 6-2, 2-6, 10-4 tiebreak win in the number four singles spot that earned Medaille a trip to the AMCC Semifinals, their first in program history.

    Sterett posted a perfect 2-0 record in singles play and went 1-1 in doubles action for Pitt-Greensburg this past week. Both of Sterett's singles victories came in straight-sets via the #6 position and her doubles victory came via the #3 position. Sterett's strong play led the Bobcats to their first victory of the season.

    Stevens had a record-setting week for Penn State Altoona, and did so in dominant fashion. She set the a new Lady Lions' program record for the most singles wins in a season (12), reeling off three consecutive 6-0, 6-0 victories in No. 1 singles this week against her opponents from non-conference opponent Juniata and AMCC foes Pitt-Bradford and La Roche. She was also strong in doubles, posting an 8-2 win against Juniata and 8-1 victories against Pitt-Bradford and La Roche. Jess was 3-0 in both singles and doubles last week, including 2-0 marks against the AMCC. She holds a spotless 12-0 record in No. 1 singles matches this season.

    At Penn State Altoona’s tennis match on Sunday, September 30, the men’s and women’s tennis teams welcomed athletes from the Special Olympics of Blair County to the Adler Tennis Courts for Special Olympics Awareness Day.
  • AMCC WOMEN'S TENNIS TOURNAMENT FIELD IS SET

    As the 2018 AMCC women's tennis season winds down, the championship field has been set. The top six teams in the conference will advance to the AMCC conference tounament, with first round matches taking place on Saturday, October 20.

    Conrad helped the Lady Barons clinch their third-straight regular season AMCC title with four wins between her doubles and singles matches. Conrad defeated both opponents at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-1 and partnered with Maria Binette for a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles. Conrad completed her third-straight perfect AMCC doubles season and is now 24-0 in AMCC regular season doubles matches.

    Binette went a perfect 6-0 on the week, helping the Lady Barons to a 3-0 week in AMCC action. Binette won her 23rd-straight regular-season AMCC singles match. She also helped the Lady Barons to a win over Mount Aloysius, handing the Mounties their first AMCC loss of the season, while also picking up wins over third place Altoona and Pitt-Bradford.

    Wittig played a big role in the Spartans earning their second win of the season this weekend. Against Pitt.-Bradford and Medaille, Wittig earned a point in every match she was apart of, winning in her singles and doubles matches both days. Playing in the top doubles spot, she earned the 8-1 victory over Medaille and the 8-0 victory over Pitt-Bradford. In No. 2 singles, she once again picked up wins over Medaille (6-1, 6-2) and Pitt-Bradford (6-0, 6-0). Wittig's wins were crucial in the Spartan's in the 5-4 victory over Pitt-Bradford.

    Whysong had an undefeated week for the Mounties. Playing at #3 singles and #2 doubles pairing, Whysong won all six matches this weekend against AMCC opponents Pitt-Greensburg, Medaille, and D'Youville. In singles play she won 36 of her 39 games played and in doubles, her pairing won 24 of 28 games played.
  • Lauren Karoglan, D'Youville College, Women's Tennis

    Karoglan started her career off in impressive fashion this past week. She picked up wins as a singles and doubles player in both matches this weekend, including helping the team pick up their first win in the last two seasons by defeating Penn State-Behrend. She has taken over the top singles and doubles positions as a freshman and taken that responsibility in stride.
