Men’s Tennis Defeats Penn State Behrend

ERIE, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team defeated Penn State Behrend College in a non-conference match by a final score of 7-2 at the Westwood Racquet Club

BW (10-3) won three doubles and four singles matches.  Penn State Behrend (4-6) won two singles matches.

Doubles

  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and sophomore All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) won at first singles by a score of 8-5
  • Sophomores Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) and Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) won at second doubles by a score of 8-1
  • Junior All-OAC Aidan Hicks (Oneida, N.Y.) and Sophomore Gavin Binni (Sylvania/Northview) won at third double by a score of 8-1

Singles

  • McGee lost at first singles by scores of 7-6 (7-4), 0-6 and 10-6
  • Horvath won at second singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-1
  • Binni lost at third singles by scores of 6-2, 4-6 and 10-8
  • Weingart won at fourth singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-0
  • Harders won at fifth singles by scores of 6-4 and 7-6 (7-4)
  • Sophomore Joe Donnelly (Lodi/Cloverleaf) won at sixth singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-1

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, April 6 when they travel to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania for a non-conference match against Westminster College on the Westminster Tennis Courts at 12:00 p.m.
