Women's Volleyball Suffers First AMCC Loss at La Roche
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's volleyball was handed its first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference loss of the season on Wednesday night, falling 3-0 to La Roche College at the Kerr Fitness Center.
La Roche (8-14, 3-0 AMCC) won in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 25-19.
Lauren Diller (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) had a team-high seven kills for Penn State Altoona (9-10, 5-1 AMCC), and she also finished with one solo block and one block assist. Josie Stovall (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) added six kills, and Velanna Skripek (Moshannon, PA/Bald Eagle) posted five kills.
Lauren Moran (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop) led the team in assists with 14 while contributing two block assists. Tara Ryan (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) had one solo block and one block assist, and Nicole Kiser (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) had a team-best six digs.
Penn State Altoona women's volleyball will look to get back on track in its next match, which is next Tuesday, October 17. The Lady Lions travel to face AMCC opponent Pitt-Greensburg for a 7:00 p.m. match that night.
