The Pioneers reclaimed the lead in the second, however, when Brittany Fisher scored on a wild pitch. Alfred State went on to post a three-run fifth inning, using RBI singles from Lauryn Engle, Fisher, and Skylar Shaulis to extend its lead to 5-1.

Game Two: Penn State Altoona 4, Alfred State 0

The Lions' bats turned things around in the second game, as nine different Penn State Altoona hitters finished with at least one hit and the team posted 11 hits as a unit. Meanwhile, the team got a shutout pitching performance in the circle.

Kristen Hewitt (Coalport, PA/Glendale) and Lukehart each went 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Burge, Alyssa Fisher (Lock Haven, PA/Central Mountain), and Smith each picked up an RBI.

Fisher pitched a complete game shutout for her fourth win of the season. In seven innings, she kept Alfred State off the board while limiting the Pioneers to six hits and two walks, and she also struck out four batters.

Penn State Altoona grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on Fisher's RBI single into left field. That score held up until the bottom of the sixth, when the Lions added a trio of insurance runs to their total. Madison Lucas (Philipsburg, PA/Philipsburg-Osceola) reached on a single and later scored on an error, and Burge followed with an RBI single to right that scored Lukehart. Smith's sacrifice fly plated Fisher to make it 4-0.
