Panther Volleyball to Host Tri-match on Alumni Weekend

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford volleyball team will host AMCC foe Mount Aloysius and Alfred University in a tri-match on alumni weekend this Saturday.

The Panthers enter the tri-match in the midst of a 10 game winning streak, which has also seen them win 16 straight sets. In their last match, the Panthers beat Penn State-Dubois in 3. They won the first set 25-20, and then breezed to 25-12 wins in the final two sets.

While Emily Cleveland has led the Panther attack with 192 kills, the 7th best total in the country, the Panthers have received important contributions from newcomers. Olivia Reese has added an important second option opposite Cleveland, as she is second in the AMCC in kills with 118. She has also added 15 aces, 71 digs and 11 total blocks. Fellow freshman Jordan Sitler has also been an important piece for the Panthers' success. Sitler is 5th in the AMCC with 90 kills but has made her presence felt at the net, where she has recorded 44 total blocks, which is at the top of the AMCC and 22nd in the country. Setter Tabitha Walker has also had a terrific start to the campaign. She leads the AMCC with 433 assists, which is the 17th best in the country.

Mount Aloysius enters the day 0-9 after starting the season with some tough competition. Ashlee Parrish lead the Mountie attack with 60 kills, while Kiersten Szpala and Emily Henry have added 36 and 35 kills each. The Mounties have split settert duties this season, as EMma Colyer leads the team with 85 assists Hannah Atzeni is just behind her with 83. Abigail Fletcher leads the team defensively, collecting 146 digs this season.

Alfred enters the tri-match at 5-6 on the year and coming off a loss to Keuka on Friday. Sarah Raeman leads the Saxons with 95 kills, while Honor Edmands and Rylee Russin have added 76 and 73 kills respectively. Amanda Burns has served as the primary setter for the Saxsons, as she has 251 assists on the season so far. Dairan Ortiz leads the defensive effort for Alfred with 209 digs. 

The following regulations will be in place to align with Pitt-Bradford's COVID-19 mitigation efforts for indoor events. All spectators, game staff, officials, and team members not actively participating on the court are required to wear a mask at all times. Masks must be affixed to cover the wearer's nose and mouth. All spectators will be required to sign in upon their entrance into the facility, as the lists will be used in any contact tracing efforts that may become necessary. They will be required to provide a name and contact phone number to game staff.

The tri-match is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. The day will start with the Panthers AMCC opener against Mount Aloysius. The second game of the day will feature the Mounties once again, as they take on Alfred at 2:30. The day will come to a close with the Panthers taking on the Saxons at 5:00 p.m.
