Panthers to Host RedHawks in AMCC Game of the Week

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team will kick off their AMCC schedule on Wednesday evening, as they host the LaRoche Redhawks in the AMCC Game of the Week.

The Panthers (6-5) move into conference play on a three-game winning streak after posting a 4-1 record in the month of December. They finished up 2022 with an 89-75 win on the road over Grove City. The Panthers erased a 15-point deficit in the first half to earn the win. Nathan Schneider led all scorers with 34 points on 13-21 from the field and 8-8 from the free throw line. He also grabbed 6 rebounds and recorded 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. B.J. Williams added 17 points on 6-10 shooting, while Trey Oyler scored 12 points off the bench on 4-4 shooting and 3-3 from beyond the arc.

Schneider once again is at the top of the AMCC leaderboards as he leads the Panthers and the conference in scoring and rebounding with 25.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He is also one of the more efficient scorers in the AMCC as he is second in the conference in field goal percentage at 62.1%. Phillip Wallace averages 13.3 points per game and Trey Oyler is at 12.0 points per game after his 4-4 season debut. 

LaRoche is 5-6 this season with a 1-5 record away from home. After a tough start that saw them drop their first four games, the Redhawks had a strong month of December, going 3-1. In their last game, LaRoche defeated former AMCC foe Franciscan 86-41. Four Redhawks scored in double figures, led by Devon Darrell's 14. Darrell leads the team with 17.3 points per game, the 4th best average in the AMCC. Joe Pipilo averages 14.6 points per game, making 45.5% of his shots from three. Senior Jordan Grayson also averages double-figures, scoring 11 per contest. Grayson leads the Redhawk rebounding effort with 5.5 per game.
