Hamburg, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team picked up an important road win on Wednesday night, as they defeated Hilbert 92-70.

  • The Panthers got off to a quick start, as Nathan Schneider was able to get inside the paint and make two layups and a free throw on the Panthers opening two possessions. While the hosts were able to answer Schneider's two early baskets, the Panthers clamped down after that as they pushed their lead to 5 on baskets from Devin Moultrie and Greg Archie. Hilbert was able to respond, as they put together a 7-0 run over a two-minute span that saw them take a 15-11 lead.
  • The teams traded baskets over the next 6 minutes of play, as each team was able to answer each field goal from their opponent. With 6:35 to go in the half, Isaiah Archie hit two free throws to begin a 7-0 run for the Panthers, which gave them the lead for good. Following a defensive stop, Greg Archie was able to convert a three-point play and then Isaiah was able to get out into transition and throw down a slam dunk to put the Panthers up 32-25.
  • Over the final five minutes of the half, the Panthers used a Trey Oyler three, a Moultrie slam dunk, and 5 points from Greg Archie, including a buzzer-beating jump shot, to maintain a six-point advantage at the break.
  • After halftime, the Hawks came out strong, quickly cutting the Panther advantage to two points. Alex Rodriguez hit a corner three to end the rally and after the teams traded baskets, Isaiah Archie made highlight-reel plays on consecutive possessions to push the lead to 9. With 14:08 to go, Archie was able to slam home a putback dunk after a missed three-pointer and then quickly stole the ball on the ensuing possession, racing down court for another dunk. The slams were the beginning of a run that saw Archie score 10 of 12 points for the Panthers.
  • Halfway through the second half, Greg Archie hit a corner three off of an inbounds play to increase the Panther advantage to double-digits. It was part of a 13-0 run for the Panthers that was punctuated by another Isaiah Archie one-handed dunk in transition. The run pushed the Panther lead to 20 points and put the contest out of reach. In the final minutes of the game, freshmen Hayden Adams and Noah Wichert hit late threes. Wichert's three was the first of his collegiate career, and came as the shot-clock expired.
