La Roche ends three-game win streak, falls on the road to Mount Union

ALLIANCE, OH - La Roche's men's basketball team hit the road, and are coming back with a loss against Mount Union, ranked No. 11 in the nation.

The Redhawks did not go down without a fight however; three LRU athletes still came out with double digits in tonight's contest.

The team was able to force 13 turnovers from the Raiders, and from those 13 turnovers the theam also stole 13 points. The Redhawks may have had more turnovers than MTU, but Mount Union only gained 15 points from forcing four more turnovers.

Leading the change is Joe Pipilo, who made headway for La Roche with 12 points. The 6'5 sophomore shot 50 percent from field goal range, and completed two out of five three point attempts. Pipilo also had six rebounds, and two assists.

Unfortunately for the Redhawks, tonight the baskets were just not rolling their way. La Roche shot 43 percent from field goal range, and 25 percent from the three point line.

However, Devon Darrell prevailed to put up 11 points on the board, and shared three assists. Darrell averages just over 13 points a game, and shots 51 percent from the field.

Joining him in the pursuit of double digits was Kadyn Hannah, the freshman came back after having his lowest scoring game of the season this past Saturday against Pitt-Bradford. Hannah put up 10 points and five rebounds.

The Redhawks take a day off before they head back on the road to Pitt-Greensburg. Tipoff will be directly following the women's basketball game.
