Panther Tennis Drops Opener

Erie, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team opened its season on Saturday, falling to AMCC rival Penn State-Behrend 9-0.

The Panthers' best chances to win came during the doubles portion of the match. Freshmen dominated the first two pairings. Both top pairings lost their debut matches 8-5. Lauryn Moore and Madilyn Rodgers played in the top group, while Abigail Martin and Lydia Ehrensberger played at number 2.

Martin also had the closest singles match. Playing at number 3, Martin lost 6-2, 6-3. Ehrensberger lost 6-2, 6-1.

The Panthers are now 0-1 on the season. They will be back in action on Monday when they host Fredonia for a non-conference matchup.
