La Roche Falls by One to End AMCC Tournament Appearance

ERIE, PA - La Roche University stayed in it until the end, but Alfred State College pulled away late in a 6-5 victory on Friday. 

The game was tied at five with Alfred State College batting in the bottom of the sixth when Owen Lansing singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

The Redhawks opened up scoring in the first inning, when Ryan Lynn singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Alfred State took the lead for good with one run in the sixth inning.

Christopher Mattoon got the win for the Pioneers. The righty surrendered one run on five hits over five and a third innings, striking out one. Ryan Bailey and Spencer Riehler entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Bailey recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for the team.

Zack Oddi took the loss for La Roche. The righty lasted six innings, allowing 11 hits and six runs while striking out three and walking zero.

AJ Gartland started the game for Alfred State. The lefty allowed three hits and four runs, walking one

La Roche tallied eight hits on the day. Tanner Kobal and Kyle Weitzel each collected multiple hits for the Redhawks. Weitzel and Kobal each had two hits to lead the team at the plate.

Alfred State College collected 11 hits on the day. Nick Serce, Jack Curabba, Sam Dickerson, and Brody Burdett all managed multiple hits for Alfred State College.

Serce led the Pioneers with three hits in four at bats. The team also didn't commit a single error in the field. Serce had the most chances in the field with 11.
