Panthers Drop Non-Conference Matchup With Medaille

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team hosted Medaille in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday evening, losing the match 7-2.

The Panthers were able to improve their play from their first match with Medaille, which saw Pitt-Bradford lose all 9 matches.

The Panthers got their first point of the day in the third doubles pairing. Sabrina Moser and Jana Elenany were able to win their match by a score 8-3. This was the first match Moser and Elenany have played together this season.

The match of the evening came in the 3rd singles pairing as Caroline Hance was able to emerge victorious from a tiebreaker to win the match for Pitt-Bradford. Hance was able to get in front of her opponent with a 6-3 win in the opening set but was forced into the tiebreak set as she dropped the second set 2-6. In the deciding set, Hance was able to outlast her Maverick opponent, winning the set 10-8 to earn the point for the Panthers.

The Panthers now have a 2-6 record on the season. They currently do not have any matches scheduled this Fall but could add more as the weather remains playable.
