Baseball Goes 1-1 in Upstate New York

HILBERT, NY - La Roche hit the road to Upstate New York this weekend to take on the Hilbert Hawks. The Redhawks went 1-1 on the weekend. 

Game One

Anthony Cioffi came to the ballpark and meant business on Saturday, driving in four on two hits to lead La Roche University past Hilbert College Hawks Varsity 5-1 on Saturday. Cioffi drove in runs on a home run in the first and a home run in the sixth.

Cioffi got the first three runs on the board in the first inning with a three-run home run out to left field. He drove in Stutz and Kurcon with him. 

Stutz himself earned an RBI on a hard single to center field driving in Ben Dottle

Cioffi again in the top of the fifth inning hit a solo home run to solidify the lead for the Redhawks. 

Dylan Kurcon, Kyle Weitze, and Ryan Lynn got hits off tonight. 

Zack Oddi will get credit for the win, he threw six innings and allowed six hits and one run. 

Game Two

Unfortunately for the Redhawks in their nine inning game, Hilbert got an early lead, and the Redhawks could not come back. 

Jackson Rogers threw the first six innings of the nine inning matchup, he allowed seven hits, four runs and one home run. 

Pitching the seventh inning was Cameron Mauk. Mauk gave up five runs, two home runs, and six hits. 

Earning RBIs for the Redhawks was Mason Brooks and Ryan Lynn. Earning a hit was Nathan Stutz

The Redhawks are back on Tuesday to face off with Penn State-Altoona.
