PITTSBURGH, Pa.- The Juniata women's tennis team was edged 5-4 by La Roche University at the Lakevue Athletic Club, Saturday.
Emily Dowler (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) won 6-3, 6-2 at first singles, Kelley Appow (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) fell 6-2, 6-2 at second singles, and Kady Lohr (Shanksville, Pa. / -) fell 6-4, 7-6 at third singles. Emma Kramer (Chalfont, Pa. / Pennridge) fell 6-1, 6-1 at fourth singles, Emily Sarro (York, Pa. / Dallastown) won 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles, and Mary Fairfield (Harrisonburg, Va. / Eastern Mennonite HS) won 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.
Dowler and Lohr fell, 8-2 at first doubles, Appow and Fairfield fell, 8-6 at second doubles, and Kramer and Sarro won, 8-0 at third doubles.
