Panther Offense Struggles Against Penn State Behrend's Top Ranked Defense

Erie, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team struggled to score against the AMCCs toughest defense, Penn State-Behrend. The Panthers fell by a score of 78-47. The Panthers shot a season-low 28.6% in the game while committing 15 turnovers.

Game Notes:

  • Alex Rodriguez was able to knock down a jumper on the Panther's first possession, however it was the only basket Pitt-Bradford would score from the field in the first 13 minutes of play.
  • Daniel Lynch and Deondre Terwilliger were able to make 3 free throws in the shooting slump as the Lions built an early 20 point lead.
  • Alex Breindel ended the drought with 7:09 to go, as he hit back to back three-pointers to kickstart the Panther offense. Breindel added a third three and two free throws in the half, while the Lions rebuilt their 20 point lead.
  • The second half started similarly to the opening stanza, as Pitt-Bradford was unable to score for the first 5 minutes of action, allowing Penn State-Behrend to push the lead to 27.
  • Dylan Meyer hit two jump shots inside on back to back possessions, but the 23 point deficit was as close as the Panthers would come to their hosts.

Leaders:

  • Alex Breindel was the Panthers leading scorer, finishing with 13 points. He shot 50% from the field, including 3-6 from beyond the arc and 2-3 from the line. He also tallied 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals.
  • Miles Parker also finished in double figures. He scored 10 points on 3-5 shooting. He hit 2 of 3 from three.
