Behrend Women's Basketball Hosts Tip-Off Tournament

ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend women's basketball team will host their annual Tip-Off Tournament on Friday and Saturday in the Junker Center. The Lions will take on Otterbein in the first round on Friday evening at 6 p.m.

* Behrend was picked to finish second in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Preseason Coaches Poll, behind top pick La Roche
* Head coach Christine VanHook enters her eighth season with the Lions, posting a 4-4 record in season openers
* Last season, Behrend fell to Chatham in the season opener and then reeled off nine-straight wins
* The Lions are the winner of last year's Tip-Off Tournament, defeating SUNY Canton and Grove City
* Sophomore guard Rachel Majewski (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) returns after averaging 11.8 points and shooting 46.2 percent from the floor in conference play

* Last season, Otterbein went 18-7 overall and advanced to the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) quarterfinals
* Katie McCrary returns after ranking in the top five in the OAC in scoring (13.1 ppg), assists (3.3) and steals (2.2)
