Women's Tennis Outlasted by Mavericks

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Women's tennis team saw its 2 game winning streak end on Tuesday as they fell 9-0 to Medaille.

While the final tally was 9-0 in favor of the Mavericks, the match-up was much closer than the final score appears as the Panthers pushed the visitors to the limits in all three doubles matches, as well as some of the singles matches.

Lauryn Moore and Madilyn Rodgers lost a tough match-up at #1 doubles, falling 8-7 in a tiebreaker that went to Medaille 7-3. Both other matches were close, as the Panthers were unable to hold on and fell 8-5 in both.

Rodgers also had a tight match in singles, falling at #2 6-2, 6-4. In the third pairing, Caroline Hance ended the match in a tough tiebreak format that saw her lose 7-5, 10-4.

The Panthers are now 2-3 on the season with all of their matches coming in AMCC play. They will head to Penn-State Altoona on Sunday for their final AMCC match, needing a win to secure their position in the post-season tournament.
