Panthers Head to Break with 94-62 Victory

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team picked up a victory in their final game of 2021 as they defeated Penn State-DuBois 94-62 on Monday afternoon.

  • The Panthers got off to a quick start as they jumped out to an early 7-0 lead. Isaiah Archie got inside for two lay-ups to start the scoring and then assisted Alex Rodriguez on a three from the corner. After being held off the scoresheet for the first four minutes of play, Nathan Schneider exploded for three quick baskets on consecutive Pitt-Bradford possessions to extend the Panther lead to 9 points. A Lion three with 10:30 to go saw the Panther advantage cut to 5-points. but a Trey Oyler layup and six straight from Isaiah Archie pushed the lead into double digits. 
  • With 4:13 remaining in the half, Penn State-DuBois was able to put together a 9-3 run that saw the lead narrowed to 7, but the Panthers responded through Schneider. The junior hit a driving layup to end the rally and followed that up with an old-fashioned three-point play to go back ahead by double-digits. Isaiah Archie completed a three-point play to put the Panthers up 17 with 2:00 left in the half, but the Lions hit a last-second three to send the game to the break with the Panthers up 12.
  • After halftime, the Panthers made an intentional effort to get into transition. They quickly built momentum and a Greg Archie three from the wing extended their advantage to 20 points after just four minutes of play. After the three-pointer, Isaiah Archie took over, scoring 10 of 12 for the Panthers. This was part of a 19-7 run that saw the Panthers go up 34 points with 5:32 to play. 
  • In the final 6 minutes of the game, Devin Moultrie helped close the contest as he scored 9 of the last 11 Panther points. This run included two powerful slam dunks on feeds from Schneider and Kameron Holmes. He also added a free throw and two layups.

Isaiah Archie once again led the way for the Panthers, scoring 29 points in the game. He was 11-14 from the field and 7-8 from the free-throw line. He also collected 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Nathan Schneider was also highly efficient for Pitt-Bradford, scoring 19 points on 7-9 shooting. He also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to notch his 6th double-double of the season. Greg Archie scored 16 in the game while dishing out 5 assists and Moultrie scored 9.

The Panthers head into their holiday break with a 6-5 overall record. They will be back in action in the new year as they will host Hiram in their final non-conference game of the season on Monday, January 3rd. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in KOA Arena.
