Lions Compete in Spring Games, Fall To Nebraska Wesleyan and Mount Union

CLERMONT, Fl. – The Penn State Behrend softball team fell to Nebraska Wesleyan and Mount Union on Tuesday in the Spring Games.

Game 1
* The Lions fell to Nebraska Wesleyan in game one of the day, 6-2
* Behrend had both of their runs in the first inning, taking a quick 2-0 lead
* Mackenzie McIntire (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) and Kylee Bundy (DuBois, PA/DuBois Area) each tallied a run
* The Lions held the lead until the fourth inning when the Prairie Wolves scored two runs to take a 3-1 lead, a lead Behrend was unable to overcome
* McIntire registered two doubles in the loss

Game 2
* The Lions took on Mount Union in the second match of the day, falling 11-2
* Behrend came out strong, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning
* The Raiders bounced back tying the game up in the bottom of the first
* Bundy had an RBI in the second inning to take a 2-1 lead
* Mount Union scored five runs in the second and 10 unanswered to end the game in six innings
* Bundy lead the Lions with two hits and one RBI
* Alayna Derzak (Seven Fields, PA/Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic) tallied one hit and one RBI
