ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader to John Carroll 7-2 and 4-2 on Thursday afternoon.

Game One: John Carroll 7, Penn State Behrend 2
Records: Penn State Behrend (15-16), John Carroll (15-14)

Key Moments: 

* John Carroll had a 2-0 lead after four innings of play
* Behrend, who never lead in the game, tied it up with two runs in the fifth
* Kayla Salvini (McDonald, PA/Fort Cherry) tripled to right center and scored on Maddie Smith's (DuBois, PA/DuBois) sacrifice fly
* Jocelyn McNany (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) doubled to center field and next batter Meghan Petitte's (Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) registered a double to send home McNany to make it 2-all
* The Blue Streaks scored four runs on three hits and two errors while leaving two on base in the top of the seventh to take the lead for good
* McNany, Petitte and Salvini each had two runs
* Kaitlyn Ezzone (Ashtabula, OH/Edgewood) came in as relief and suffered the loss, going 3.1 innings and allowing three earned runs

Game Two:  John  Carroll 4, Penn State Behrend 2

Key Moments: 

* John Carroll scored all four runs in the firs two innings on five hits
* Behrend had eight hits and stranded five, while scoring a run in the fourth and sixth innings
* Petitte hit her second home run of the season in the fourth with a bomber over the left-field fence
* Petitte then scored the second run of the game off an RBI single up the middle by Cami McNany (Emlenton, PA/Allegheny-Clarion Valley

Abby Tingley (Union City, PA/Union City) pitched the entire game, falling to 6-6 on the season and recording four strikeouts
* The Lions tallied two hits in the final frame, but the Blue Streaks turned a double play to protect the sweep
* Sierra Williams (Grove City, PA/Lakeview) tallied a hit and also got the RBI in the fourth to score Petitte
* Kaitlyn Ezzone (Ashtabula, OH/Edgewood) threw 4.1 innings for her third loss this season
