Men's Soccer Bested by Allegheny

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The La Roche men's soccer team is now 0-4 after losing at home to Allegheny College in a non-conference matchup, 9-1. The gators are now 3-2-0 this season.

La Roche started off strong when junior forward Jake Gorman (Ambridge, PA/Ambridge) scored the first goal of the game twelve minutes into the first. Gorman has tallied all three of LRU's goals this season.  The Gators answered with a goal of their own one minute after, and continued to score three more goals in the first half and five more in the second.

Two Allegheny players scored multiple goals and eighth registered at least one point. The Gators out-shot the Redhawks 27-8 and 15-4 in shots on goal.

Freshman goalie Benedict Mattingly (Pittsburgh, PA/Taylor Allderdice) played the first half of the game, he allowed four goals and made three saves. Senior Goalie Denali Nicholas (Christiansted, Virgin Islands/St. Croix Central) allowed five goals and made three saves.

NEXT UP: LRU men's soccer travels to St. Vincent College on Thursday, September 16th for a non-conference matchup. The game is set to start at 4:00 p.m.
